Formed for His Function
15 Instead, we will speak the truth in love, growing in every way more and more like Christ, who is the head of his body, the church. 16 He makes the whole body fit together perfectly. As each part does its own special work, it helps the other parts grow, so that the whole body is healthy and growing and full of love.
The leadership team for this ministry landed on Ephesians 4:15-16 after careful discernment and thoughtful prayer following the end of the previous academic year. Many factors were considered, such as the spiritual needs of each academic class, belief groups, and overall sentiment following the earlier years' teachings and circumstances. As many people in our body wrestled with the idea of being meticulously created by our Creator, they often stumbled upon one thing: "Where did they stand as an individual in the context of the body of Christ?".
Was the purpose of being a Christian to receive Christ and then carry on about our lives? Are we called to serve others after coming to Christ? What does life as a Christian look like? Why is a life for God more appealing than one that is without? What is the Gospel, and how does it apply to me? What is truth in love? How are we called to live and serve after receiving Christ? After understanding a call to serve, where does my strength come from?
As our members grapple with these profound questions, we invite you to embark on a transformative journey. This academic year, we will delve into the theme of being the Body of Christ and understanding how to build and serve the Body. We aim to equip you with the knowledge and understanding to answer these questions.
